Special Events

  • Saturday, April 18, 2020 - 11:00am - 1:00pm

Hello Partners, Parents and Community Leaders:
Due to the national emergency created by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we have decided to cancel high-attendance, youth-focused events and activities through April 2020, including all local and regional Pitch, Hit & Run and Junior Home Run Derby competitions. This decision, which does not come easily, was made in light of recommendations by federal and local authorities to postpone large group gatherings as our nation looks to suppress the spread of this disease.  We will be in communication should there be any opportunity to re-schedule these events.
MLB will continue to undertake the precautions and best practices recommended by public health experts, including by the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We advise all communities and families to follow the guidelines set forth by these experts, as well as your state’s public health department (click here for a listing of state public health departments ), and other county and/or local authorities including precedents set by area school districts and government agencies.
Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of anyone who plays, coaches, and loves our game.  Over the years, we have reached hundreds of thousands of young people through our skills competitions, and highlight the best of the best during our All-Star Week. We look forward to returning to your community in the near future.

Worcester County Recreation & Parks (WCRP) will host the 8th annual Tee Off for Youth Golf Tournament and Fundraiser on Friday, October 2, 2020, at the Ocean City Golf Club.

Join WCRP for a wonderful day of golf. Check-in and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m. A shotgun start will follow at 1:00 p.m.

The cost to participate is $75 per golfer, and all proceeds generated by this event will benefit underprivileged youth who participate in WCRP youth programs, leagues, after school activities, and summer camps. Over one third of the children participating in WCRP’s programs are considered underprivileged, and tournament proceeds provide scholarships to assure all children can participate in recreation programs year-round.

Register a team for this year’s Tee Off for Youth Golf Tournament and Fundraiser. Forms to register your 4-man scramble are available on the WCRP website or pick one up in person at the Worcester County Recreation Center, located at 6030 Public Landing Road, Snow Hill, Maryland 21863. The registration deadline is Friday, September 25.

Sponsors, auction baskets, volunteers, and donations are needed to run this year’s tournament. Promote your organization by signing up to be a sponsor. Options include a dinner sponsorship, lunch sponsorship, beverage cart sponsorship, tee sign(s) sponsorship, and other donations sponsorships.
